Flex Working

Flex Working

When someone says remote working, the idea of it just excites me, where I do not have to confine myself for long hours to a specific boundary. Having a flexible workspace or working from a coffee shop is far much better and technological advancements have made it much easier. Obviously, all things have pros and cons and in Remote working the only con I see is that less face-to-face interaction with your colleagues which is why cafés operating are for in case you are super bored with the boundaries of your home. So let’s talk about the pros more. Remote working conditions have not just improved work capacity but it has granted a work-life balance which is quite a rage these days. A happy employee will definitely go the extra mile for an organization and would give a noteworthy performance due to work-life satisfaction.

Remote working has definitely saved an employee an ample amount of time from traveling which consumes most of their precious energy. It has definitely improved the traffic on roads and the pollution is in control leading to better air quality. It also helped save the money unnecessarily spent on petrol or diesel. In this setup, one has additional time to focus on their fitness, give time to their family, and can devote time to their recreational activities which keeps your mood light and a bit relaxed. A happy and light mood eventually increases productivity and overall performance at work. Most of the hours are spent in front of the laptop or computer so it’s very important for an employee to maintain a proper posture to avoid any muscular pain by having the right kind of setup at home or if working from cafes. Nowadays travel and work are trending and what could be better than sitting and working from your favorite place with breathtaking views. One can travel and work at the same time and can plan it for “n” number of days till they like, breaking the work boredom.

Libraries are the passé, and Hybrid working spaces are the future. However, the type of work you are doing sometimes lets you decide which one to choose. For example, if you are researching something and need to refer to books for your research reference then definitely you should go to the library and work and if you are a techie and most of the work is involved in laptops then you should go to these hybrid working spaces. Libraries are often small cozy places and definitely not designed to do office work, where you will find no to zero charging points to charge your computer or mobile. As we grew, have always had this notion in mind that libraries are meant for maintaining silence and reading so doing some online webinars, meetings, or talking on the phone would not be possible from there. Any extrovert personality who enjoys working with music and if the work involves some talking would hesitate to go to the library. In fact, a good ambiance, and surrounding matters a lot for avoiding the work boredom.

Thanks to technology which made flex working possible. Even the kids enjoy homeschooling rather than going to school every day. Rather than monitoring all the time on your employees, companies are better off focusing on achieving targets. Big Companies who are planning to run their offices in tier 2 or tier 3 cities can initially run from such workstations. It is an ideal place for startup companies where they do not have to invest in high-rent office spaces, reducing a lot of their overheads. In India lot many people are living in 1BHK or 2BHK where they cannot set up their office space due to large family size it would be difficult to work peacefully and hence they can switch to flex work mode. Post covid most of the offices & Campus are strategizing for hybrid and implementing on it.

Hybrid working spaces are solely designed for the working class, where they have soundproof meeting rooms, office aisles, gaming zone, washrooms, phone booths, an open terrace to relax or for food intake, and a small café for your munching. This is how actually the future work – breaking the monotony, breaking the rules.
